I'm really lucky since I live in Niagara Falls Canada. I really don't have to go far for a day trip since there are many beautiful areas close by. My favorite is a walk/window shop/lunch day in Niagara-On-the-Lake.

I live in Victoria, Australia, and my favourite day trips are always driving to the coast. The best ones are when there's a picnic, and family and friends will come along, and everyone will swim and laugh and talk and then it will get dark and we'll stick around anyway.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to go on a day trip like that again, next summer!

ReplyDeleteWe live in Houston, so a great day trip is to Galveston. There is so much to do there. There are many great restaurants, of course the beach, shopping on the Strand. There is a water park and an Aviation Museum as well as Moody Gardens. It's a great place to spend the day or longer.

If you live in New York City, a nice day trip is to take the Metro North train to Cold Spring, NY. It's such a cute, quaint little town on the Hudson River. Main Street has adorable little stores and the atmosphere is beautiful during the fall when the trees are turning colors. It's worth the trip.
ReplyDeleteMy ideal place to go for a day trip is the park. I love to picnic there in the summer. In the winter I love to look at the beautiful snow!
ReplyDeleteI love to go to St. Augustine and see the site
ReplyDeleteMy ideal day trip is to go to Wilmington, NC. I'm definitely a city girl, but this town is so cute and homey- I love it so. And, it's a darn easy day trip as 1) they have their own airport so I can direct fly from NYC and 2) the airport is so small you can actually park at the curb, go inside, help your visitor (me) get her luggage, and come right back out to load your car. First class. And, my dear, dear friend lives there, I can shop at Edge of Urge, there's bomb ice cream by the river, and the beach is right there, too. You all want to go now too, right? :)

We would go to pier 39 and have lunch and then take a walk into town where we would do some shopping. Our favorite was China town where we would buy Chinese candy and fresh crab. Of course, we'd finish the day by heading home and making crab dinner.

We live a few miles from The Weeki Wachee State Park, Weeki Wachee, FL. The paths through the park are wonderful subtropical forest. I just saw a grey Macaw African parrot around there. Someone must have lost their pet. The African grey parrot is originally from Africa, however they have spread throughout the world due to people wanting them as pets, it is also know as one of the most intelligent birds due to its abilities to recognize objects, color and its ability to learn words and phrases.
